Design Associate
JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary
The Design Associate is a client-facing design role that supports our Project Development Team by guiding homeowners through material and finish selections while assisting with design documentation and coordination.
This position is ideal for someone with interior design training who loves working with people, enjoys helping clients make confident decisions, and brings organization and follow-through to a detailed process.
For the right candidate, this role has the potential to grow into a Project Designer position over time, though the primary focus is client selections and design support.

Work Hours & Location
This is a full-time position. Work is to be performed primarily at our office, located at 780 Eden Rd., Lancaster, PA, or in the field with clients.
Some remote work hours may be acceptable after onboarding, providing results are in alignment with position accountabilities.

Key Responsibilities
Client Selections & Experience
- Guide clients through material and finish selections including cabinetry, countertops, fixtures, tile, flooring, and hardware
- Prepare clients for selections meetings and help them feel confident and supported in decision-making
- Serve as a warm, professional point of contact throughout the selections process
- Communicate timelines, next steps, and expectations clearly
Design Support & Documentation
- Assist with creating selections packages and design documentation
- Support Project Designers with drawings, schedules, and specifications as needed
- Ensure selections are complete, accurate, and aligned with the approved scope and budget
- Coordinate selections information across design, estimating, and production teams
Process & Coordination
- Track selections progress and deadlines to keep projects moving forward
- Maintain organized, accurate project records
- Follow and support established design and documentation processes
- Contribute ideas for improving the selections and design workflowings post-construction to review wins and areas for improvement on each project.
Requirements
General
- Of working age for tasks required and have proper working paperwork.
- Active driver's license, safe driving record, and reliable transportation
- Able to lift at least 25 pounds.
- Be able to physically maneuver around construction sites at any stage of construction (i.e. foundation, framing, total enclosure)
- Available for communication between 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday-Friday
Technology & Software
- Proficient in Google Apps and/or MS Office Suite
- General computer and internet skills
- Comfortable with mobile devices
- Computer savvy and comfortable learning new software.
Education & Experience
- Education or training in Interior Design or a related field (degree or equivalent experience)
Not Required (But Nice to Have)
- CAD or design software experience (Chief Architect, SketchUp, Revit, etc.)
- Rendering or visual presentation skills
- Experience in residential remodeling or design-build
