Andy and April's Bathroom Remodel
Lancaster, Pennsylvania
LANCASTER, PA BATHROOM REMODEL
A Thoughtful Bathroom and Laundry Remodel for Future Living
Preparing to move back into their Lancaster home in the coming years, Andy and April wanted to make the second floor more functional, comfortable, and purposeful. By adding a true ensuite bathroom and relocating laundry upstairs, the remodel created a cleaner, more convenient layout designed to support everyday routines with ease.
Project Goals
-
Create a functional ensuite bathroom where one did not previously exist
-
Relocate laundry to the second floor for easier everyday access
-
Design a clean, comfortable space that feels relaxing and purposeful
-
Incorporate practical, budget-conscious features without sacrificing style
The Challenge
The home did not have a primary bathroom, and the laundry was located on the first floor, making the layout less convenient for long-term living. Since Andy and April planned to move back into the home in a few years, they wanted to take advantage of the house being unoccupied to make thoughtful updates now. The challenge was to create a functional second-floor bathroom and laundry area while staying within budget and maintaining a clean, comfortable design.
The Solution
By reworking the second-floor layout, the unused closet space was transformed into a bright, functional ensuite bathroom, while laundry was added nearby for everyday convenience. The bathroom was designed with a calm, clean aesthetic, featuring a double vanity, matte black accents, and a solid-surface shower surround chosen for both affordability and easy maintenance. A towel warmer—an important feature for the homeowners based on their experience living overseas—adds comfort and a personal touch. The result is a purposeful second-floor remodel that prepares the home for their next chapter.
