Big Style in a Small Bathroom

Carla and Michael were ready to give their small bathroom a much-needed update. Dated finishes, heavily textured walls, and a dark, confined shower made the room feel even smaller than it was. Their goal was to create a brighter, more open bathroom with clean, timeless finishes—while making the most of every inch of the existing space.

The Challenge

With a limited footprint, every design decision needed to work hard. The existing shower felt dark and enclosed, while heavily textured walls and dated finishes contributed to the bathroom’s cramped appearance. Even the placement of the new shower door presented a challenge, requiring careful planning to create a more open shower while maintaining comfortable movement within the room.

The Solution

Rather than trying to make the bathroom something it wasn’t, our team focused on making its existing footprint work better. We removed the textured wall finish and replaced the old shower with a more spacious design featuring Tyvarian wall panels and a custom glass enclosure. Large black floor tile adds contrast, while a mix of matte black and brushed nickel fixtures gives the room a clean, modern look. A wall-mounted sink and streamlined mirrored cabinet help preserve valuable floor space and keep the finished bathroom feeling light and uncluttered. The result is a bathroom that feels significantly larger and more enjoyable to use—without adding a single square foot.
