The Challenge
The original kitchen felt more closed off and lacked the space and functionality needed for gathering. Limited seating, storage, and visual connection to surrounding areas made it difficult to use the space for both cooking and entertaining. The challenge was to open up the kitchen while creating a cohesive design that connected it to the rest of the home.
The Solution
By opening up the layout and introducing a custom island, the kitchen was transformed into a central hub for the home. White cabinetry, granite countertops, and light flooring create a bright foundation, while the gray island adds contrast, storage, and seating. Updating the adjacent fireplace helps visually tie the spaces together, resulting in a kitchen that feels open, connected, and designed for gathering.
