Modern Minimalist Double Bathroom Remodel
The original bathrooms created many problems for this family that they no longer wanted to face. The layout and lack of storage in the primary bathroom did not work well. The kids bathroom was not equipped for 3 children. It was time to create spaces the worked better for their family dynamic.
Project Goals
-
Reconfigure the primary bathroom to better utilize space and improve overall functionality
-
Create bathroom spaces that support the needs of a growing family and daily routines
-
Modernize both bathrooms with updated layouts, finishes, and a cohesive design aesthetic
The Challenge
Both bathrooms presented unique but equally important challenges. In the primary bathroom, an outdated 90’s layout included an oversized corner tub, limited storage, poor lighting, and an inefficient use of space—especially with a cramped shower tucked into the toilet room. The layout simply didn’t support modern functionality or comfort.
In the kids’ bathroom, the existing fixtures were no longer practical for a growing family. A single-bowl vanity and basic tub/shower setup made daily routines more difficult, especially with multiple children using the space. The challenge was to redesign both bathrooms to better serve their specific needs while maintaining a cohesive overall design.
The Solution
In the primary bathroom, a full reconfiguration of the layout created a more open, functional space. Removing the oversized corner tub allowed for a spacious, glass-enclosed tiled shower, while reworking the entry and expanding into adjacent space improved flow and usability. A larger vanity with added storage, improved lighting, and updated finishes transformed the room into a calm, modern retreat with a clean, cohesive look.
In the kids’ bathroom, practical upgrades made a big impact. A new double-bowl vanity and updated tub/shower combination provide better functionality for daily routines, while fresh finishes and a bright, inviting palette create a space that feels both durable and thoughtfully designed. Together, the two bathrooms balance individual needs with a cohesive, modern aesthetic.
