Project Overview

When Lavonne and Mark began thinking about updating their kitchen, they knew one thing for sure: it needed to feel completely different than what they had. The existing space felt dated, uninspiring, and no longer aligned with their style — especially as appliances began reaching the end of their lifespan.

What started as a desire for a simple refresh quickly evolved into a full remodel once the design possibilities came into focus. The homeowners were excited by the idea of creating a space that didn’t just feel updated, but truly wowed them — a kitchen that felt elevated, cohesive, and enjoyable to spend time in every day.

Scope of Work

To transform the kitchen into a space that truly felt like theirs, we began by rethinking the layout from the ground up. The new design improved flow, increased storage, and created a more seamless, cohesive look throughout the space — all while supporting how the homeowners cook, gather, and entertain.

A new island became the heart of the kitchen, providing seating for guests and family while anchoring the room visually. Special attention was given to the placement of the sink so Lavonne could enjoy views of her outdoor space while cooking — a detail that required custom cabinetry solutions and careful coordination, but ultimately became one of the most meaningful features of the remodel.

The cabinetry was fully replaced with custom storage solutions, including panel-ready appliances to maintain a clean, uninterrupted aesthetic. Upgraded appliances brought modern performance into the space, including the transition from electric to gas cooking. A built-in coffee machine and dedicated beverage station added both convenience and a touch of luxury to daily routines.

Throughout the kitchen, finishes were intentionally coordinated — from hardware to plumbing fixtures — to create a polished, high-end feel without visual clutter. The result is a kitchen that feels elevated yet welcoming, designed to impress guests while still working beautifully for everyday life.

Lavonne and Mark moved through Project Development at a comfortable, steady pace. While they came in with a clear vision, they appreciated guidance and reassurance throughout the selection process — especially when refining finishes and confirming details in the showroom. Their decisiveness and trust in the process helped keep the project moving smoothly. The pre-production phase, including the ordering of materials, determining product lead times, and scheduling with trade partners, spanned just over a month. Once construction began, this kitchen remodel was completed in approximately 16 weeks. While that timeline was longer than a typical kitchen remodel, the scope and level of customization played a significant role in the overall duration. Custom architectural elements — including a fully integrated, handcrafted range hood — required additional time to ensure every detail aligned with the original design intent.

Because key decisions were thoughtfully made during Project Development, the construction phase remained organized and intentional. Rather than rushing the process, time was taken where it mattered most, allowing each element to be executed with care. The result is a kitchen that feels cohesive, refined, and truly custom — one that reflects the homeowners’ vision and stands the test of time.
