Elevated Basement Remodel with A Cozy Industrial Feel
Reilly and Cierra were expecting a baby and wanted to add more living space to their current home. They wanted to add a place in their home that could grow as their family does. Also, since they had to turn their current office into a nursery, it was important for them to create a new office space.
Project Goals
-
Transform an unfinished basement into a functional space for entertaining and everyday living
-
Create a flexible layout that could support both hosting and a growing family
-
Incorporate features like built-ins, a guest space, and modern finishes to elevate comfort and usability
The Challenge
The basement started as a blank, underutilized space that didn’t contribute to the home’s living area. As the homeowners prepared for a baby, their needs quickly evolved—requiring space for both entertaining and a private guest room or home office. The challenge was designing a layout that could balance multiple uses without feeling crowded or disconnected.
The Solution
Through a thoughtful design-build approach, the basement was transformed into a cozy, industrial-inspired living space tailored to the family’s lifestyle. A central entertainment area with custom built-in shelving creates a strong focal point, while a separate private room adds flexibility for guests or work. Finishes like epoxy flooring bring a modern, elevated feel, resulting in a space that is both stylish and highly functional for this next stage of life.
