Project Overview

This kitchen remodel was driven by the desire to create a space that truly fit the homeowners’ lifestyle. The home had originally belonged to a family member, and while the kitchen functioned on a basic level, it wasn’t designed around how they cooked, gathered, or moved through the space each day. Over time, the small layout and limited storage led to daily frustrations.

Through a collaborative design process, we reimagined the kitchen to feel more open, intentional, and reflective of the homeowners’ style. By focusing on layout improvements and layering in character-rich details, the finished space feels both more functional and more personal — a kitchen that supports everyday living while also making a statement.

Scope of Work

To transform the kitchen into a more open, functional, and inviting space, the layout was reconfigured to improve flow and connection to the surrounding areas. Walls were removed to open up the kitchen footprint, allowing natural light to travel more freely and making the space feel significantly larger. Storage was redesigned and expanded to better support the homeowners’ daily routines, cooking habits, and entertaining needs.

A vaulted ceiling was introduced to add height and architectural interest, finished with shiplap and exposed wood beams that bring warmth, texture, and a sense of character to the room. A statement island was designed as the centerpiece of the kitchen, offering generous prep space, seating, and additional storage while incorporating decorative posts for a furniture-style look. Custom cabinetry was installed and thoughtfully detailed to enhance the rustic aesthetic, complemented by a custom wood hood and faux brick accents that add depth and a subtle nod to traditional craftsmanship. Together, these updates created a kitchen that feels open, intentional, and rich with personality — a space designed to support both everyday living and meaningful gatherings.

Project Development moved forward smoothly with a strong focus on collaboration and detail. Vaulting the ceiling required coordination with a structural engineer, which added time to the design phase but ensured the changes were executed safely and correctly. The pre-production phase, including the ordering of materials, determining product lead times, and scheduling with trade partners, spanned just over a month. Once construction began, this kitchen remodel was completed in approximately 11 weeks. While a typical kitchen remodel often takes 6 to 10 weeks, the expanded scope of this project — including major structural and architectural upgrades — made this timeline especially efficient. This kitchen Rather than experiencing delays, the project benefited from careful planning and thoughtful decision-making, allowing each design element to be refined before construction began — ultimately resulting in a beautifully crafted, cohesive space.
