A Fresh Start with a Light, Warm & Timeless Kitchen

After purchasing their new home in Landisville, Claire and Kori saw an opportunity to make it their own before moving in. Rather than settle into the existing spaces and remodel later, they chose to update several areas at once—refreshing the kitchen, adding storage and functionality, installing new flooring throughout the first floor, and giving the rest of the home a fresh start. The result is a brighter, warmer home designed around the way their family wanted to live from day one.

Project Goals

Refresh the existing kitchen with an updated look and a more functional island while working within a specific project budget.
Create additional everyday storage by expanding the laundry area and incorporating pantry cabinetry.
Bring a cohesive look to the first floor with new flooring and updated finishes throughout the connected living spaces.

The Challenge

With the homeowners preparing to move into a newly purchased home, timing and budget were both important. They wanted to complete a substantial list of improvements before settling in, but the scope needed to be carefully balanced with their overall investment goals. The biggest challenge during design was determining where updates would have the greatest impact while keeping the project aligned with their desired budget. Once the design and scope were established, Claire and Kori were decisive and moved quickly through Project Development.

The Solution

Rather than completely reworking every part of the home, the design focused on thoughtful changes that would make a noticeable difference in both function and style. In the kitchen, much of the existing layout was refreshed while a new island became a warm focal point with added seating and workspace. White cabinetry, light countertops, updated lighting, and new flooring transformed the formerly dark kitchen into a bright, inviting gathering space.

The improvements continued beyond the kitchen with expanded laundry and pantry storage, new flooring throughout the first floor, and updates to the adjoining living spaces. By completing these improvements before move-in, they were able to begin life in their new home with spaces that already felt fresh, comfortable, and distinctly theirs.
