Modern Comforts Meet Timeless Charm
While the layout still worked well for their lifestyle, the finishes, fixtures, and overall feel had grown tired over time. They decided it was finally time to get the home they truly wanted—one that felt fresh, inviting, and exciting to live in again.
The result was a whole-house transformation. We touched nearly every space, updating the kitchen, living areas, laundry room, and both guest and primary bathrooms upstairs. Throughout the process, our focus was on balancing timeless design with updated functionality, ensuring every selection made the homeowners fall in love with their home all over again.
Project Goals
-
Refresh the look and feel of the entire first floor and key upstairs spaces after 30+ years.
-
Create spaces that feel inviting and exciting to live in again.
- Modernize key features like the kitchen, bathrooms, and fireplace while preserving touches of original character.

Scope of Work
The original kitchen, while functional, felt dated with its dark wood cabinetry, white laminate countertops, and builder-grade finishes. To refresh the heart of the home, we reimagined the entire space with a lighter, more inviting palette and improved storage solutions.
The new kitchen features soft sage-green cabinetry, a crisp white tile backsplash, and stunning white quartz countertops.
Rich, warm-toned hardwood floors replaced the original vinyl, bringing warmth and character underfoot. We also reconfigured the cabinetry layout to add better storage and display space. Updated lighting fixtures—both over the island and in the dining area—add a perfect touch of modern charm while keeping the space bright and welcoming.

Family Room

%20Whole%20Home%20Remodel/1st%20Floor/Family%20Room/Strasburg-Whole-Home-Remodel-29.jpg)
Scope of Work
The family room had great potential but felt tired, with worn carpeting, dated trim, and a heavy, somewhat unfinished look around the brick fireplace. One of the homeowners' main requests was to refresh the fireplace area while keeping some of its original exposed brick charm.
We updated the room with new carpeting to bring in a soft, comfortable foundation, and added a new gas fireplace insert for better function and warmth.
To give the fireplace wall new life, we designed a custom shiplap surround and mantle, painted in a deep, moody green that both contrasts and complements the existing brick. The trim and wall colors throughout the room were refreshed to feel lighter and more modern, helping the whole space feel brighter, cozier, and more connected to the home's new style.

Scope of Work
The original laundry room was functional but basic, with minimal storage and outdated finishes. The space felt underutilized and lacked the organization the homeowners needed, especially as they looked to move more storage from the basement to the first floor.
To transform this room, we installed beautiful custom cabinetry in the same soft sage tone as the kitchen, creating a cohesive feel across the first floor. The new cabinetry dramatically increased storage capacity and provided dedicated areas for everyday essentials. A durable tile floor replaced the aging vinyl, adding both style and practicality. The combination of updated materials and thoughtful storage solutions turned the laundry room into a much more functional, polished space that fits seamlessly into the overall home design.

Scope of Work
These interconnected spaces set the tone for the home, so it was important to create a cohesive, inviting flow.
We updated the flooring with rich, warm-toned hardwood that seamlessly connects each room and complements the refreshed design throughout the first floor. The original oak trim was thoughtfully refinished, and we introduced a fresh, neutral paint palette with subtle contrast on the moldings, giving the home a sophisticated yet classic feel.
New light fixtures were carefully selected to add character and warmth without overwhelming the spaces, enhancing the welcoming atmosphere. Small but impactful styling updates—such as the refreshed staircase railing and updated entryway details—helped modernize these areas while preserving the sense of history and comfort the homeowners loved.
The result is a collection of spaces that feel brighter, more open, and perfectly balanced between timeless charm and modern livability.

Scope of Work
We completely remodeled the guest bathroom to blend classic charm with modern sophistication. The existing vanity was refinished, giving it a fresh, rich appearance, and was topped with a new quartz countertop and under-mount sinks.
We replaced the large builder-grade mirror with two individual framed mirrors, instantly elevating the space with a more custom feel. All plumbing fixtures were updated to a brushed gold finish, creating a cohesive and polished look.
In the tub/shower area, we installed soft-blue subway tile, adding a subtle touch of color and dimension. Updated lighting, hardware, and thoughtful details, such as a tiled shower niche for extra storage, completed the transformation, making the bathroom both beautiful and highly functional.

Scope of Work
The primary bathroom was fully reimagined to create a calming, spa-like retreat. We preserved the original footprint but dramatically updated the space, starting with refinishing the vanity to maintain warmth and character. New quartz countertops and under-mount sinks were added for a clean, modern finish.
We replaced the single, oversized mirror with two framed mirrors above each sink, bringing a sense of balance and style. All plumbing fixtures and accessories were upgraded to a brushed gold finish, tying the entire design together.
The former tub/shower combo was converted into a luxurious walk-in shower featuring rich, dimensional tile in neutral tones and a custom inset niche for convenient storage. Large-scale tile flooring was installed to visually expand the space, and upgraded lighting and accessories completed the transformation into a bright, refreshing space for daily routines.

Project Completion
April 4, 2025
We began Project Development for this whole-home remodel in late September 2024. With so many spaces being updated, the design and planning phase took a little longer than usual as we worked closely with the homeowners to thoughtfully finalize selections and details. The holidays also extended our pre-production phase slightly, adding a few extra weeks for final preparations. Once construction began, however, everything moved smoothly and steadily, and we completed the project right on schedule—bringing the homeowners' vision to life just as planned.
